         Love’s Dichotomy

A fine crescent moon carves
its slice of deep-midnight blue
from beneath a star drenched
tapestry of cycling constellations,
far above this lovely vanishing
trace of woodland freedom.
Spring is the cruelest season
conjuring new hope from the
   dead ground,
while silver moonbeams chase
the misty shadows and dance
with the earliest wildflowers.
Along the tortuous road of life’s
regrets, on such a pensive eve
   of sorrow’s reckonings,
perhaps the saddest truth of all
is the single heart we share
forced to dwell in two places.

Ahhh . . . I understand the sentiment you have so eloquently presented to us today, Bruce. Life gives us love, but many times it also gives us obstacles which makes it impossible to get everything "just" right.

Sometimes what brings us the most joy also causes us the most pain. Sad but true.
