It’s not as easy to open doors any more,
She’s not as pretty as she was before,
A lot of Jazz and too much Blues
With a long stretch of only bad news,
She needed a song of hope or happiness
Not her normal verge of hopelessness;
She had to project a different style.

Her wardrobe was a single dress of green
That hung lose on her body so lean,
Not a bracelet or even a ring,
Sold long ago to eat something,
Her waves of hair covered her bare ears
Previous failures calmed her fears;
A door opened with a song and a smile.

Okay, I agree with Lori. It's a wicked world for the females.
