It was springtime, so they said,
Yet sunset gave a chill of winter
A feeling she always had
When chill wind was on the water,
Maybe another day would bring more warm.

Traffic lights blinked their demands,
But the neon of  a bar caught her eye,
Some desires are more commands
And she didn’t even wonder why,
Maybe another drink wouldn’t do more harm.

She bought her first glass, but it wasn’t the last,
Friendly men always were buying her more
Till making a not such a subtle touching pass.
For once she headed for the door.

Hah! She let the men supply her with drinks and when one of them made a pass she hit the door running. I understand it to a point, but I also understand the rebuff wasn't taken too kindly.
