Okay, I know it isn’t still winter,
but it was when I wrote this poem.

though the flowers herald spring
frost thickens
inside my heart
a dog barks from a far distance
a longing kind of a howl
I sympathize
it sounded so forlorn
probably like me
it is alone
it is still winter
though spring arrives on the morrow
I will awake
on the first day of spring
it will affect me not
I will still be alone
it will still be winter
aye, the fire in my belly
like the candle
hath burned itself down
like the moth to the flame
the dusk unto the dark
the world moving toward annihilation
everyone is gone
I am alone
it is winter dead

Love the photo
and yea, its funny I wanted to post a poem
I wrote about the Fall, but stopped

I think it's been such a harsh winter, its hard to let go of the anger about it all

so the photo really resonates though I fear
little snowboy is not happy about it

Thank you, Emma, the snowboy had to go. Take no prisoners is the motto of the killers of winter. And you're right on when you say the anger is still there. What a winter we had!

It is too gloomy outside to read this...I'm going to wait until the sun shines again and take another look. I won't hold my breath waiting on the sun.

Gotta make this quick...Sunshine is like snow, you never know how much you are going to get or how long it is going to last. You captured the cold, desolate feeling of a long hard winter. Bah Humbug! I mean, good job!
