Although I know tomorrow is the first day of spring but it feels like the first day of spring here in the swamp.

winters blast, winters freeze
is thawing
at long last the warming begins
it makes the walks
my mutt and I take more enjoyable
where before
the lawns, the flowers
were desolate and forlorn
are now being mowed
yes mowed!
people are working in their yards
their gardens
and vibrant, colorful shapes
children, who having been cooped up all winter
are now heralding spring
in their own loud
and happy way
so, yes
spring is here once again
like taking a deep breath of
life-giving air
after having held it these long
winter months

Yes, the sunshine and warmth is irresistable.  I was out yesterday working in my flowerbed.  Would you believe we had snowflakes last night?! Crazy!  Almost time to open windows. Actually get to turn off the furnace during the day.

Yeah you're right, Maureen, spring will eventually get to you. Thanks for being here.

Lori, that is crazy weather, giving you enough warmth to work your flowers and at night snowing. Jeez!

I'm afraid it still feels like a 'nasty' day in early February here in the 'endless' mountains of old Appalachia!
