Feengurs

Once upon a dream undone,
In a land far away...
The undead spoke, and the world awoke
To ghosts of yesterday.
Driven, deranged, all life estranged
Once viewed through emptied eyes;
They gathered ranks, and swords and shanks—
Set forth to claim their prize.

Wizards, warriors, rogues and priests,
The army was quite daunting.
Where those they didn't kill, at least
They would be ever haunting.
When from the ashes, from the screams—
From streams of bodies falling;
A leader rose amidst the throes,
A conqueror of calling.

Her name was Feengurs, rightly so;
Those digits ne'er stopped moving.
Fate's to anoint, there was a point
She would never stop proving.
The poisoned bride of love denied—
Of gathered misconception;
She took the pain of broken chain
In a whole new direction.

We followed her, a dreadful blur
Answering Night's endeavor...
As rivals fell, allies as well,
In her quest for forever.
Till, all alone, upon the throne
Of nothing left to conquer,
I bent a knee, and gave the plea,
Ever to be her sponser.

One 'live, one dead, hungers unfed,
The world became our palace.
I gave a toast too all love most,
While she emptied the chalice.
All life grown dim within the glim
Of anticlimaxation;
I burned and bled, and drank the dread
Offered of such a station.

Pulse falling dire, unyielding ire,
I found there was no easing
This want— this need— this outright greed
I had no way of pleasing.
Her eyeballs drained, her smile profaned,
I soon found myself running
From death, as sure as hate was pure,
In the face of one so cunning.

She turned on me, quick as can be,
In hand a polished dagger.
Her scream, a seam ripped free from dream,
God, how it made me stagger.
Hand two, for true, my heart was due...
I looked to see her smiling;
Feeling the pull of her song's lull.
Oh yeah, she was beguiling.

The winds grew chill, near drained of will,
This was the path I'd chosen...
For what it's worth, to 'ends of earth
Where we faced off, near frozen.
Heartless and dead, a voice in head
Revealed our newfound illness.
I pulled her close, sweet and morose,
Then loved her into stillness.

And it's eerie, and it's leery
To watch the undead die.
What you'd believe— what you would grieve—
What crawls from a dry eye.
Though now I'm king, don't mean a thing
In the wake of such madness.
I still lie here, the moonlight drear
Upon these pools of sadness.

Undead retreat, quest incomplete,
Infernal black invading.
My thoughts all haze, through the dark maze
Of soft silence cascading.
'Look to a sky, met with a sigh,
As eternal night lingers...
Trying to pry, evermore I,
My heart from cold, dead Feengurs.

Lengthy, but has an entertaining story. I really liked the way you play on "feengurs".

Ingenuous!

WoW! I was quite mesmerized, Michael. I loved this ride of terror you took me on. Yes!
