n’er had I dreams as other people do
nay, I had but two dreams
one to find who my (real) mother was
of that dream I was thwarted
the other dream
was to leave the house I was raised in
I left
came back and left again
this was repeated
often
broke most every rule
society frowned
I sit here
old now awaiting my fate
funny thing
a hilariously funny thing
had nothing to do about a week ago
Googled my name
just for the hell of it
wouldn’t you know there she was
my mother
in the form of a
1940 U.S. Census
twenty-four-year-old Mary Turnage
born 1916 in Texas
living with my adopted parents
in Walker Creek, Arkansas
as a lodger
I found my birth mother
now what?

That is basically what I am doing, Lori. Unbelievable, after all these years, I at least, know the name of my birth mother.

Things nearly impossible just a decade or two ago.
Imagine the power and life-changing experiences occurring everyday on the net.

Yep. You got that right, Jack. This wasn't the first time I had Googled my name, but it was the first time her name popped up. I've Googled it since and she wasn't there then. Pure luck.

Yes Jo, I now have a name, just not sure that I want to know more. Yeah, I think I do. Thank you for your very kind words.
