While singing the first hymn today, I began to wonder about our praises one day in heaven...how or will we know the words? It became even more profound when near the end of service, the words to part of our song did not appear upon the screen in front of us. I had to go home and try to capture the feeling in words that had come over me. Here is my attempt.

Mystery

will we know the words
when we gather for His praises

will we know them, perhaps.
by the harmony He raises

when we stand in Awe
of the glories He’s given

will we really forget
the life we were livin’

what form of ‘nology
tech or miraculous wonder

will lift our voices
in praise like thunder

it’s so hard to fathom, here,
when the screen goes blank

and our minds eas’ly follow
that some day we’ll crank

out the words of our love
our praise, our joy

of His AWESOMENESS
and perfection

His eternal promise
not bound by scheme nor rhyme

nor limited by any essence
of man’s understanding of time

Whether on the shoal or on the shore,
I'll seek the lighthouse evermore.

Your gift for word was His to you. You use it wisely and with humble grace.

Touch, but don't look

Thanks, Jack, at least it seems you have seen/read my poem in the vein of its intent. I'm sorry to say a coworker from many years ago, who then professed being a man of faith has certainly taken these words far from their intent and with his interpretation, there would certainly be no God behind them.
My hope was that the inspiration I felt would be helped along by His Spirit. Perhaps His Spirit is also needed by the reader. Novel idea, eh?

Whether on the shoal or on the shore,
I'll seek the lighthouse evermore.
