I am steadfast
strength resides within me
being there for her
through this brutal winter
with accumulated snow banks
I am steadfast
for her
do not hold with foresight
still, I understand
the fire of my love
no . . .
never judgmental
she has given me new insights
and they lie within me
like a soft summer day
as the sun stokes how I feel for her
within my power
I bring love into her heart
not like actors upon the stage
but real
oh so very real
like the first buds of spring
two hearts
one sharing two loves
since she has come into my life
desirability has taken control
she shares her secrets
as I do to her
as we shared those secrets
our love
took on the shape
of the fall of the year
each leaf that falls
a secret shared
until there are none left
the tree is bare
but not barren
no . . .
it is a majestic nakedness
in all its glory
