As the sunset bears down
through the skeletal branches
we can rejoice on these days of the frost
much as we suffer its cold

as we'd have not known the beauty
that can only surrender
when the branches are stripped of
their summertime clothes

That is, of course, a way of looking at it. Stark can be beautiful.
