    How to Make It Last

The moon is my lantern on
this deep-mountain night.
The forest in the mist is
from some other world.
Here were I walk alone
with dreams unfulfilled
and the troubles of Winter
following the voice of
   the restless wind,
it is not the rolling years
that compel our lives
but the quest for a love
that shall talk against Time,
certain as the ageless sea
and dancing starlight.
I have chosen you
but know not how
to make it last.

Oh yes, that is a definite conundrum alright, Bruce. This short poem is filled with all the right words, like . . .

Your inspiring piece stirs a recollection in me. Having once asked, 'how do I make the love and good times last', I was advised to live them to "their end or mine".

Simple. I've been doing just that ever since.

I guess it last forever within us no matter what the outside world dictates. Perhaps that's the most important place. Good write as usual, Bruce.
