at a point in time
everyone begins to strive
to capture the real meaning
of life
we are born
we begin to grow
our youth is frantic
so much so that the question of
real meaning
eludes us
eventually this age old question
comes alive
we wonder about God
about what happens to us when we die
sometimes, more often than not
we secret questions
into dark recesses of ourselves
not daring to voice them
instead we conspire
instead we ponder
we brood over
questions about the meaning of life
which has been asked
for centuries
the answers of which confuse us
in time
our inner questions
shall we name them demons
for these questions and thoughts are personal
they are real
not in the least abstract
they have been there for years
these dark secrets
waiting for the moment
we are strong enough to confront them
about things untold
things we really don’t want to voice
still . . .
the moment you do voice your fears
to someone
you are taking charge of your life
and the struggle
confronted and discussed
will soon be a thing of the past
and now after taking a deep breath
you are free

And that be God's time...and not one wit sooner or later.  No matter how much we gritch and moan!  Good one Jerry!

Hi Lori, when you're right you're absolutely right. Still we try to avoid it as long as possible.

My demons are up front and close where I can reach out and grab 'em. Then I shake the cow pies out out of 'em.

Touch, but don't look

all these open ended questions, can create different answers in each of us, which is a good thing, to me anyhow. since I don't like to ponder on things like death
thoughtful stimulating poem
