you lay there so still
as though you
are waiting, waiting
for a special kiss

your gown flows
full freely on your body
as if twirling in a
moonlight dance

your arms folded
beneath your breasts
your hands at rest
one upon another

just one last kiss
my darling
just one gentle embrace
then a tear

...I will always love you

This is precious Max. I came prepared,,,The title tipped me off. You compact so much emotion in so few words. You honor her and your relationship well. God bless your heart.

Such heartbreak within the lines of this poem. Parting is such sweet sorrow. ho said that? Shakespeare? Sounds like one of his.
