time savors its victory
for which I have no defense
so I spend the whiles delicately
in memories of you

I once thought the sea was telling
but no...
it was just me listening
listening for the sound of your breathing

your thick raven hair laying over my shoulder
your dark eyes limpid and possessing
slowly tracing paths to my own
your soft comforting arms around me

and then...

days are longer now and shadows show the best of me
but I still see, feel, and smell the rapture
of those days when time was more obedient
and we were so restless within it

Forget the hankey give me a towel. Touching to say the least Max. My husband already lost one wife to a car accident, I told him if I had anything to do with it I'd let him pass first. Nobody should have to suffer that loss twice. We'll see if God agrees.

Sad poetry, but the feelings within it have a grand measure of respect, love and wanting.

Thank you very much Jerry and Miss Lori. This writing, unlike some of mine, is a true reflection and I greatly appreciate your seeing that in it. I also lost my son back at the turn of the millennium in a fiery car crash in Wisconsin. I wrote 'Danny Boy' a few years later.

I don't usually show myself this personally, but the air this morning was crisp and quiet and I felt comfortable enough with it all.

Frankly, your sensitive replies was also key.

Many thanks again.

Regards from Max
