Easy as
falling off that log

Complicated as
a tangled knot

We are born
into the music

But we still must
learn the dance

Hurt and joy
go hand in hand

leather and lace
has its place

There has to be
some intimacy

a little tenderness
to see it through

and just enough passion
to be true

Ahhh . . . You have the blueprint for love, that's a fact.

Jerry
I was trying to draw attention... no, wait, draw straws... no, wait, draw a happy conclusion as to what (in my humble opinion)
the building blocks of a lasting loving relationship are. I've been married over 30 years (not to the same person) I'd like to think I have some idea what works and what doesn't (yes, I was a child bride. Practically an infant)

After all that time being wed I would imagine it would give you an insightful way of making it work. Your husband is very lucky.

Thanks for the vote of convidence Jerry, but I'm sure there are days he would swear he didn't fall off that log but that I hit him with it! LOL!!

Eh . . . It goes with the territory. Sometimes you have to make your point in whatever way you have to.

The steps to the that dance can be pretty tricky to get down pat.

one person might say we have to split because youve changed..

and the other might come back with, yes we do, because you havent..

going on 34 years here Lori with my wife..

for me, love means knowing..

you'll never have it all figured out

but that doesnt mean that i wont keep on trying..

what better thing is there to put so much of our effort trying to understand

lovely write my kind friend

There is no better thing Richy, you got that right. The only time to think about abandoning ship is if you find you are rowing that boat alone. Thank you so much for all the thoughtful things you say.

Way cool huh Marherita?!  It is like a party here. I love the blue buffet. I'm so glad you dropped by to join the celebration.

I like it a lot! Anyone would agree that you can't dance 'til you hear the music. Oh, I guess you could in reality, but one's no good without the other.

Touch, but don't look

Sometimes I like to go out back in the 'alley' and see if I can find some overlooked treasures. You know, the ones with 0 hits?

Well, when I found one that had 20 hits, I slid across the seat to see who the author was and what attracted so much attention to their post.

Lo and behold! It was you Miss Lori!

After reading your lovely and well constructed poem, I grabbed hold of it and drove it up to the top so folks can have another read themselves.

Hope you don't mind.

I wouldn't want to set you to blushing.

I'm delighted! Given that my memory isn't what it used to be I had to read it to remember what I'd written! If you really want to make me blush you will have to do better than that... ~L
