Of Hope and Love and Spring

Beyond a grey-brooding evening
   twilight
that conjures forlorn memories,
deep regrets, and cascading sorrows
carried on the wailing Winter wind
through a thousand miles of barren
   desolation,
a cold-vacant moon and indifferent
   stars
fill the night in shadows dancing
with the demons and restless spirits
of these timeless ancient hills
to the piping of the dead;
Yet even in this here and now
something small and deep
and warm inside still stirs to
whisper to the steadfast heart
of hope and love and Spring.

Spring wouldn't be the same without Winter, whether those seasons occur without or within.

Fine poetry, pleasurable reading.
