My life began

On a grain,
of sand

A spume of spirit
washed, on land

The grain turned to
gravel
and then,
into stones

The grit turned to marbles
then mountains
of bones

Ridges of nakedness
trying
to bluff

Down to the deserts of just
not enough

Passing by cactus still holding
their ground

Walking on secrets still hiding
their sound

And so we continue
to solve
with resolve

Love is still hiding, inside
of involve

We step and we step
and endear
with endure

One is a cancer and two
is a cure

Don’t think that by falling,
you’re not doing well

A canyon is made from the
raindrops
that fell

All that we are
are clusters of feeling

Spending our memories
kneeling
and stealing

Reaching for something,
that fondles
us back

Looking for
remnants of hope
that we lack

We are the jig to somebody’s
saw

We are the heat to somebody’s
thaw

We are the promise of tattered and
torn

I took my first breath on the stub,
of born

One time I ground a dream
into dust

I poured in the ocean and it,
became us

Yester is tired, of being
a day

Tomorrow is only
a lifetime,
away

A LOT of play on words within the confines of this one, Richy. You are very good at that, and now that I know where you come from I can understand why.

Oh man, I really felt the love and the longing and the hearts deep desire.  What's a girl to do...going to add my tears to that canyon.  And that pic...well you know its so perfect.

Hugs you...

Richy can you cook?  You combine such wonderful "flavors" for the mental palette-
whimsey and humor and love make this a delishous read.

Lori G, that is so funny that you ask that, because I am actually a chef instructor. By day I paint with sweetness and seasoning and by night I scribble with affection and mystery.

I’m glad your mind found the poem delectable, the flavor of your replies are always so sweet.

This is quite amazing and it seems to me that you have dived deep into the essence of things to come up with timeless reflections. The picture is perfect too.
