Fair to middlin' of nowhere

Snow whispers
down from the
pre-dawn dark
Cascades of white
catching the light
illuminate the scape
Inches accumulate
while kids sleep late
dreaming in cozy
Coffee brewing
fills the kitchen
with wake me
Groggy stiff fingers
gratefully take
that first cup
Getting the motor going
Warming things up
Ready to head
to the city
with his machine
Clearing parking lots

Morning Guys!

I'm ready for a nap! If this isn't a day for sugarfree hot chocolate I don't know when would be! Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!

It is cold but the wind isn't blowing so it isn't too bad. Word has it that the highway is nasty-cars in ditches, semis stuck on off ramps. I'm home, I'm home, I'm home!

Hi Lori,

Coffee in the tropics isn't near the same as coffee on a cold snowy morning.

It really is the little things...and those precious ones that make it memorable in the best of ways.

Your poetry cuts a smooth swath through the thickest of Winters.

...just bein' Bluesy

James!
Glad I could take you back. The snow is about a foot deep here and just about done.  They have canceled school again for tomorrow. WOO WHO!

Bluesy,

What a delightful thing to say! You are much too kind.
Drinking a hot cup of coffee in the snow-priceless!

I wish it would snow here!

Unfortunately, school has been cancelled several times due to the cold.. but the snow, I miss it.. It's warmer when it snows.

Kaoru-
Yes and quieter too! I love the way the snow puts a "muffler" on every thing. The wind is really howling now! Thanks for commenting!

Thanks Ida!
Thanks to the snow and Parent Teacher Conferences the kids only had classes on Monday this week. Hopefully I will still get to go in Thursday.
Have found that hot oatmeal (without the lumps) tastes pretty good anytime of day (or evening)
It is a balmy 5 degrees here with gusts of wind up to 30mph. You should see the drifts!
I'm lovin' it!
