a staggering moon
and merlot down the toilet
are morning reminders
that witness the quagmire
as what thrived in the rhapsody
now drowns in the afterglow

and weeds on long highways
ride miles with the travelers
on journeys to everywhere
journeys to nowhere

This is all that needs to be said, Emma . . .
quote:
as what thrived in the rhapsody
now drowns in the afterglow

Perfect!

sounds like one of those nights that turned into day

if the journey is everything.. i suppose it doesnt matter as much, where we end up..

I so enjoy your mind

thanks for letting us peek in now and again..

Calmly reflecting in afterglow. Funny isn't it, that in love's rapture, it never seems to come of mind.

Sometimes, it may even be a part of it. Your poetry moves gracefully on its never-ending sojourn.

The simplicity of your poem makes for great visuals and much impact.

Always my pleasure to read you, Emma~
