it was the 1st in 2014, another instance of its theme had clearly found me out...

Is it seasonal
or reasonal
this thinking of mine

I just heard
myself saying
“My thinking
doesn’t last long enough
to carry anything out.”

I walk toward
an action
and find another on the way.

For instance
there’s this thing
that happened
just the other day:

I headed for the
family room to empty out
the hamper. When I stopped,
I was at the refrigerator
wondering why I was there.
Nothing in its innards gave a clue,
and then I turned and remembered
laundry was what I meant to do.

Just now I sat in my rocker/recliner
to read and sip my tea,
and then it dawned quite rudely
I’d not made an ounce for me.

Whether on the shoal or on the shore,
I'll seek the lighthouse evermore.

Oh, you are singing my song here, Virginia. I quite understand your poem this morning. My short term memory is giving me alarm, but alas and drat I feel there is nothing I can do about it.

outstanding really, we have to accept changing with time, and being "tenderly" distractive, what a poem, full of sensitivity and generosity, fantastic

I'm so thrilled to be getting email notifications. Now to just find out which password is the working one. Sheesh!

I'll seek the lighthouse evermore.

I am smiling, but there is a slightly bitter aftertaste to it . How comes?  Well, it's because I am part of this club. The greater my worry about these moments, the more they happen and mock me, it seems.

Excellent write, dear Virginia, to which too many can relate!!

Loved this! It was so ME! And apparently a bunch of other people. I'm not alone in the looney bin, Yahoo!

Thank you all so much! You have filled my day with joy! AND just to assure you, it's  not a case of "misery loves company."

Whether on the shoal or on the shore,
I'll seek the lighthouse evermore.

Vas,You have joined a popular club. Now if we all lived together maybe things would get done in a  proper order.I find I do manage to find my way back to the first step after doing a few others before. It does make life interesting don't you think?

I thought I had solved the problem of having to wait for water to boil only to find I almost burned the pot. I now put my tea bag into the coffee pot and ad the water and turn it on.It will stop at the proper time and no matter if I let it sit too long.  It has been working fine the past few months but alas, today I waited a bit too long and when I went to check it out I saw the teabag sitting lonely in a hot dry pot.It is a wonder the pot did not crack.  Best to you Vas.Enjoy the life we've been given.I do. Jo
