Every chance I get to smile

Agony
stubs its toe

Every time I laugh a
little

Misery, is just a state

Every time I feel
embrace

The world no longer
bleeds

Every time I see
your eyes

A scar begins
amends

Humor took me as a friend when
I
was really young

Back before the voice inside me
even,
had a tongue

Laughter was the bridge
that brought me
closer
than before

Telling stories soon became amusement park
on shore

One by one a part of me was
severed
from my heart

I just wish I knew why families,
have to,
be apart

There is nothing swell
inside a
wave
you cannot
see

I never knew that
ominous
met no one
else
but me

I never knew, together
was
the other side
of dark

I never knew that being
left
could leave you such a
mark

I never knew that I could
build
a wall, up to the sky

Tell me what is
good
when someone
has to say,
goodbye

I guess it’s time
to put those feelings
back
upon the shelf

The twin to being
by your side
is being
by,
yourself

So sad Richy,I wish I had some comforting words for you. We have to remember they are still in our hearts just a room away. Love to you, jo

The trials of love and leaving is never a positive thing. Heartbreak is a moment away.

Gosh Richy I'd forgotten just how much I enjoy your style-even in the saddness there is always a streak of light, an ironic smile. Your ever present humor is heart warming.

thanks so much Lori its great to hear from you..

on christmas eve in 2011 my brother, Ron passed away. Six months later on the fourth of july my brother Bob passed away as well. The fourth of july is my mother's birthday. Holidays are starting to frighten me a little. Those events have changed my life as things like that often do. I've been trying to work through it ever since. I dont know if i ever will. My brothers Ron and Bob were 1 year older than me, and they were twins.

This piece was written for them.

thank you all for listening

every little bit helps, and i am indebted

So sort to hear about your brothers, Rich. Lovely tribute to them. I know what you mean about holidays. My daughter passed away on Mother's Day 2000, And by the way my Mother's birthday was also July 4th.
