Gimme a shot and a beer. Yeah Sweetcheeks it's true haven't been here in a while, you're right on that one too but you know me I'm a gonna live until I die. Oh now stop, now don't you cry things are better when you smile. ‘Sides I think it's takin' way too damned long, I guess it's just not time to go, who knows I may yet prove them smug doctors wrong, think they know it all. They' be just as cold when Nature gives a call. Hey how ‘bout we put some Willie on that jukebox and serve me up a special smile if you please. Oh c'mon, you know I'm much too old a man to tease, ‘sides I know you save that stuff for him. You know Slim if I was just a younger man.... Gimme a shot and a beer. Whadaya say whadaya know, that's my girl free pour it to the rim, I always liked your style. What's that my friend? Yeah yeah so you heard that too just be glad it isn't you, then again they could be wrong... ‘sides we're here all busy dyin', I wouldn't wanna be the only man alive. Gimme one last shot and a beer. Nah Dear I won't need a cab, I'm a be walkin' home from here ‘cause the Man only hassles when I drive. You make me laugh you really you really do. Fun read...and thought provoking. I don't mind getting old and older ..but when I start thinking about my own mortality...I guess that's reality kickin in. Seems it wasn't that long ago that I had my whole life in front if me. Life is good...and what you make it though.... That's my story and I'm stickin to it.  . Liked your poem a lot. |

Enjoyed watching the game of life through you.It is something we all wonder about.I do not worry but wonder when and how and am trying to set things in order now so family will be settled as easily as possible. I have been too old for too long and never really thought of much but the day to day of living and giving. Had I my druthers I would be off on a world wide trip and let what has to happen happen far away from all.
