Thousands and thousands of grains of sand, And they slipped through the claws of a mighty hand, Into large eyes, of a mighty one. The battle was won. And Death the dragon grinned A grim skeletal mocking grin that is. And Time the dragon lay stuffed with sand. A not so hollow husk, And Death drank of the blood But it dripped right through his jaw, And Death the dragon, bathed his wings, in crimson red, and howled to the sky, Though Sky the dragon, Lay buried beneath his feet. And Death the dragon Relished the memories, The blood the gore The deceit the pain. The surprise of war, famine, plague Upon learning Death, Wasn't neutral, How he had played them all! The fools they never, And that is why tonight, Tonight death reigned supreme, Supreme lord of an endless night, And he could finally grin. |

An incredible read filled with allegorical imagery. I read this very slowly and the images you portray come into a life(or death)of their own. A phantasmal dragon worth respecting! Regards from Bluesy ...just bein' Bluesy |

I love the imagery in this one. The pictures are dark and triumphant and grand. I thought the word 'and' was overused, but it didn't detract from the overall effect that much. I'll be looking for more of your work. Nan (Pilgrim variety) |
