Tiptoe

Once upon a dreamy landscape that I swear I saw in your smile
there were five dozen awkward little raindrops
carving their watery mile
down the length of your elegance glow
flowering is starting to show
I know
all over my face
fixed in one sweet place
beside you as the day gently sighs,
"well there must be a reason why
lovers dot the sun's fadeout serenade
played softly on the reflection of the last song played
to usher in the moon's reign"
so this is how I will miss you when we part
nervously tying and untying the threads of my heart
to try to connect to you
to try for the limitless purplescent sky
tiptoe, tiptoe into your open eyes
there but for my hesitant soul go I
oh I...

It was a dark and stormy loneliness painting hung on me
until I heard your voice melt the icecaps
drowning so very joyfully
so nice to see me reflected in your eyes
the phoenix bird is on the rise
and it flies
against the sunbeam
all this magic that I glean
from inside you, an endless flow
darling could you ever let it show
that footprints I leave in your wake
make permanent marks that you can't ever shake
a little something to accompany you
across a sea of moonlight ripples till dawn
spilled sunlight like diamonds across your lawn
to try to get with you
to try for the smile and not the frown
tiptoe, tiptoe softly on down now
if only I get get through to you somehow
oh my...

Once upon the endless easy warmth I felt from your smile
there were a thousand words I wanted to say
all the while
to try to connect to you
to try for the limitless perfection sky
of you
tiptoe, tiptoe right up to your door
wanting oh so much more
oh I
oh my my

Tiptoe softly through your garden gates
I got limitless guaranteed love at friendly rates
tell me tell me the answer
to love's weighty question
and once upon a dreamy landscape in your eyes
I swear I saw the one
the only one
beneath the sun
the one for me.

since your hammer struck my heart" -XTC

Just so happy to see/read you here, soul drifter.

Smooth and full of heart while moving through many feelings. I was in the mood for a good read so I set out to look for one. I found yours.
