How sweet is the scent of a rose!
Her pure beauty pleases the eye,
And when she strikes a divine pose
But gladly one for her would die.

Yet as she leans against my frame
My captive heart her own adorns -
Though I feel thru the burning flame
Her satin interlaced with thorns.

Yep, the thorns seems to always be around, don't they. Nice work.

The good Lord didn't create anything without a purpose, but mosquitoes come close.

Roses are a study in beauty and conflict. Both are well represented.
