          Shadow Dance

Countless shadows dance
a thousand miles of Winter
   twilight
through these ancient
   ‘endless’ hills
along infinite deep-forest
paths of random chance
without destination.
Here all greed, pretense,
and disillusion
distill to simple truths
of Time and wilderness,
for no man ‘owns’ the
winnowing wind, wandering
stars, and cool-bright crescent
   moon.
Cherish such glorious, fleeting
moments of the ‘now;’ live in
   perpetual kindness;
covet only joy and enlightenment.

great wise words
to hold onto, when nothing
fleeting and beautiful is
meant to be held too long

many thanks to each of you for your comment/reply postings
on this humble slice of Zen ('accidental Buddhism?!')
