On rain we ran
to riverdance an intricate design

toes to the edge
of the mountain topped forests

returned, are these stirrings
finding me lost in your lure again,
the window scenes conjuring
with drizzle tone lights, and the
drifts of wind torrents

I can turn on the wipers, clearing
the simulcast, but digress instead,
letting the waterworks
play out all that is possible
(though not necessarily probable)

if just in the sweet sighs
of a girl's imagination.

Beautifully and sweetly rendered, my dear Emma. What a beautiful poem remembering a special time, or if not, one that should have happened. Again, beautifully and sweetly rendered.

If the mob governs, man is ruled by ignorance; if the church governs, he is ruled by superstition; if the state governs, he is ruled by fear.

Yes, EmmaRose, rain can, indeed, do that, coupled with a poet's beautiful spirit and imagination.  Exquisitely delicate, sensitive and nostalgic.

Surreal and alluring as the warmth of a misty morning in a valley of dreams.

I love the magic in your imagination as reflected in your poetry.
