Crows! Much maligned creatures, and written about, Yann. They are the dark forces of the bird world. They are, if nothing else, persistent.

Your fine poetry reminds me of an old answer to the plague of crows.

They were cleverly called Swans instead and a 'sooth-swan' was placed in a field with a wing tip pointing to a silver lake. The Swans flew to the waters of the lake and landed upon it. The 'Swans' promptly drowned never to darken the skies again.

Maybe it was in a dream.
