History is something
you cannot
undo

Closure can often be hard to
walk through

Our words are in prison,
locked up
in a pen

Sentenced for
passion
we couldn’t, comprehend

Feelings that only
our sadness
can cell

Tales that only an
hourglass tells

Places we
meet
are led off
to the slaughter

Letters of smoke turns the eye,
into water

Every new tear drop is born
with a scar

The longer we’re gone
the nearer the
far

Blood is a river that
we
only follow

Scarlet is present
each time,
that we swallow

Sometimes I’m breathing
for only
the still

Sometimes I’m slashing
the sky
with my quill

Words are the steps on the
paper
of journey

Dark on the light will forever,
have earned me

Yes it is true I have
taken,
a lover

A damsel of doubt and doll
of discover

I know her as balladry,
princess of paean

She is the potion that pumps
through my veins

I hate her like love
and love her,
like scorn

The ivory ink is the hunger
I shorn

It drips from my voice
when I look in her eyes

The blushing of dawn
is starting to rise

Our words were the
proof
of rapture and sorrow

There is no now,
only then, and tomorrow

We burnt our
emotions
to understand, trust

When it is the poetry,
trying
to know us

Interesting poetry giving a measure of thought to life and its peccadilloes makes for interesting reading.

If the mob governs, man is ruled by ignorance; if the church governs, he is ruled by superstition; if the state governs, he is ruled by fear.

I like how your poetry just naturally flows, lending itself to some song that should be sung

These are great little gems, Richy, thank you.
I like them all, but particularly:

"Every new tear drop is born
with a scar"
