passion boils up and over
dribbling out words
and phrases which are never heard
portion of them
fall ungracefully toward
yesterday’s quarrel
merely adding more fuel to the inferno
within my thoughts
trying to tiptoe around the wreckage
trying to not disturb
all that unfinished business

Carrying all that through the night and into the next day is not an enviable burden. Though it is true, nothing fuels a fire quite like passion.

One can always tell when someone else has been "tip-toeing" about stealthily, the soles are worn but the heels are like new.

...just bein' Bluesy

Quite an interesting concept about the hells and soles, Bluesy. Thank you for stopping by.

Glad you like my poem, Lori, sorry that it hurt.

If the mob governs, man is ruled by ignorance; if the church governs, he is ruled by superstition; if the state governs, he is ruled by fear.

I can feel the breath that is tight when anxiety strikes throughout the unraveling of this potent poem

Yep. I have that problem, and sometimes it is a problem. I have medicine for it, but don't much like to take it. Thank you, Emma.

If the mob governs, man is ruled by ignorance; if the church governs, he is ruled by superstition; if the state governs, he is ruled by fear.
