nighttime when the sky envelops him
the brightest star
sends down its acceptance
of his presence
he has a feeling akin
to the first merry-go-round he rode
he stands quiet
feeling the rush complete
before he speaks
do you still love me?
are you still mine?
am I forgiven?
do you feel my heartbreaking grief?

the sky, with its blinking stars
the brightest star
send shimmering vibes into his heart
and says no

O so sad
I could feel your heart sinking through this to the ending thud

Hi Emma. I keep replaying certain times in my life. The only difference is that these days I do it for poetic expression and not for using my heart as a sounding board. Thank you for showing up, my friend.

Good to see you here, Ringo, and thank you for reading and commenting on my poem Ah, misdirected love can bring us down that is for sure.

If the mob governs, man is ruled by ignorance; if the church governs, he is ruled by superstition; if the state governs, he is ruled by fear.
