Miscellaneous Sartori writes:

Where is the image in
     a mirror,
the palace in a dream,
an echo on the wind?
nowhere at all
such is the true nature
    of the world.

Enlightenment is the same
moon  in all waters and
    every drop of dew,
its simple truth pervasive
through all seasons of
    the soul

frigid Winter dawn
over soft-pure snow
the morning star

the blizzard
closes in as
the hard-edged
world of men
softens into
deep-white
calm and
silence.
Only then, the
wilderness
whispers,
love is all
we need
to know

along this wandering forest path
without clear beginning nor end,
bare and somber trees shiver
with this bitter season’s wrath,
when youth and spring are
but a distant memory in
   a dream,
I have come to ask the Winter
moon and frozen stars
to what place or world
do I belong?

Hello Bruce…it is hard for me to imagine living with snow so deep and cold, but your words bring the sober winter of so many in to focus.  Thank you

Okay, to get the rah-rah out of the way . . . This, in my opinion is one of your very best. You touched me deeply and your combination of words and phrases were magnificent. The first verse rocked me back . . .

quote:
Where is the image in
     a mirror,
the palace in a dream,
an echo on the wind?
nowhere at all
such is the true nature
    of the world.

That was fantastic and just whetted my appetite for the rest of the poem and I was not surprised. Truly a great peace. You should try to get it published in a poetry magazine.

the simple truth is just as is without
fanfare or convolution, much good stuff to ponder here

Thanks to each of you for the nice comments on this Wintry 'write' ...
apparently, there is still another major 'deep freeze' arctic blast headin'
toward these 'ol 'endless' hills of PA for next week too ...

Yes, one of your best, Bruce. I've probably said that before but they just keep getting better and I enjoy each and every one.
