A matter of time

How can you permeate every fiber of my being?
Every inch of my thoughts,
In every moment of my day,
Claiming I do not cross your mind,

Not once,
Not one bit,

I suppose this is true, we, us two, are on different pages,
For a gust of self doubt came and shuffled us,
Leaving me, here, in the middle of the binding,
Slowly being pressed inwards by our late tales,
Tending to the remaining barren pages,
Trudging through a lonely account of the shouldves,
Now left with but one narrator,
Where it began with two,
Seemingly you’ve landed within an uncracked cover,
A new volume set away from our short story,
I assume you see no use for its prequel,
Fortunately depicting progression calls for reflection,
And I bet, when recounting our short saga,
You will retrace our fated first meeting, kiss, touch,
To examine and itemize our past’s could’ves,

Just once,
Maybe just for a bit,

I suspect, I could reclaim my resting place within your mind,
Hoping again to occupy every inch of your thoughts,
How comfortably the fibers of our beings could agian intertwine.
