On this couch I lay my head,
No room, no lover, no feather bed

Very sad, dear Daniel. "No room" suggests a desperate situation. Many can do without "a lover" as love can be manifested in many other ways, but without a "room" suggests the grip of cold.

Very poignant.

May Christmas bring joy to the one you refer to in your poem and the "room" to feel at home as well.

Love and peace.

So many connotations can be pulled from this.
At it's basic, just plain emptiness...

Well written.
