The silence of the broken night,
A siren in the dark;
I lay here with eyes wide open,
Listening to a dog bark.

But somewhere in my beating heart,
Feels the presence to keep;
Old memories are shining through,
I smile and go back to sleep.

Good morning Lori, yes indeed, good memories are preferred over nightmares for sure. Thank you for you kind thoughts.
