You kissed me into vertigo
and watched me fall into you.
It felt good within your heart,
a wide open space to fly safely
into untold heights of wonder.

We were rope dancers then
and we never looked down,
fearless we spread our wings
to glide along sunlit trails.
We stunned even the skies.

Until we landed softly
like exhausted butterflies
upon foreign prairies
where we poured our sweet memories
into the corollas of distant flowers.

What a heart-warming poem, Margherita. Each line to me told a story which, all combined is one of the best poems of love I have ever read. You were blessed.

Margherita, this is my new favorite of yours.  I, too, love the title ... and love each line of the poem, itself.

Merry Christmas.

Soft and airy, as the gossamer wings of a butterfly.

Best not to touch...just enjoy the flight...

Thank you, dear Richard, for your kind comment. I think that the heights of love are totally immune to that kind of reaction!

Thank you so much, dear Ida. I love to write about love you know and if I had not experienced it, the inspiration would be too weak to make anyone believe I think. I really hope everyone on Earth may be blessed with love, it's what makes life bearable with all its challenges.

Thank you, dear Jimmy, for your loving comment. In my childhood there were rope dancers who crossed the main square of my town from roof to roof and that vision remained impressed forever. Goosebumps!

Dear Alison, thank you from my heart for telling me you love this. You brought a big smile and you warmed my heart. Merry Christmas to you. May you feel united with your loved ones who have gone Home this year.

Yes, dear CastleGuard, that's what counts indeed, enjoying the flight. Thank you kindly for your loving comment.

Dear Ebonygirl, thank you for commenting so lovingly, You are missed on our blue pages, please see what you can do and come back!

Thank you, dear Kit, I much enjoyed your kind comment. It feels good to see you here.

Dear James, thank you dearly. See? I have come back, there are times when we can't be present, but then suddenly we hear the call and find that writing a poem becomes a priority. Thank you for caring.

Love to all.
