the multi-hued colors of the rainbow
are wilting and withering
as I sit here thinking ancient thoughts
mesmerized by the quickly fading rainbow
as the crypt looms closer

even in the fade out, the rainbow captivates
sometimes into the innermost part of us going places we fear

Yes, you are correct, Emma. Although we realize we are going to die someday when the time begins to near we do have that fear. It's the unknown that is scary, I suppose that is one reason the concept of Heaven is so appealing. Thank you for reading and committing.
