Whispering Pines
By: Noah Hibiscus Eaton
12/7/13
.
.
.
...life is more fragile and precious,
than either of us can ever comprehend...
.
.
...but your heart's the size of an ocean,
and you're eager to fathom its hidden depths...
.
.
...your mascara is smearing,
as your eyes begin to sting,
knowing beauty always promises,
but never gives anything...

...from zenith to horizon,
life is in a gentle breath of wind,
so on this frigid night,
feel your heart beating within...
.
.
.
...because you're the Northern lights,
caressing the valleys,
that breathing spell of warmth,
in the ballet of sunbeams,
the alpenglow that bedazzles the whitecaps,
and takes everyone's breath,
every morning...
.
.
...where you're standing,
you're the soul of that place,
moment of grace,
and on the rolling breeze,
feel my reprieve,
on this cold evening,
in the broad starlight,
amongst these whispering pines...

...because you're the belle of the ball tonight...
.
.
.
.
.
...we may be condemned,
to an endless present...
.
.
...and there's so much you want to divulge,
deep inside that feels less than pleasant...
.
.
...but now can you hear the tinkling,
jingling, sprinkling of the silver bells...
feel a tug at your heart,
with fresh promises and wonderous spells...

it's that smile,
that's the light,
in the window,
of your face,
that tells people you're at home,
but when you feel your home is made to break...
.
.
.
...know you're the Northern lights,
caressing the valleys,
that breathing spell of warmth,
in the ballet of sunbeams,
the alpenglow that bedazzles the whitecaps,
and takes everyone's breath,
every morning...

...where you're standing,
you're the soul of that place,
moment of grace,
and on the rolling breeze,
feel my reprieve,
on this cold evening,
in the broad starlight,
amongst these whispering pines...

...because you're the belle of the ball tonight...
.
.
.
.
.
Slip on your favorite pair of leggings,
and your winter coat,
look outside, my dearest,
it's beginning to snow,
I miss seeing your smile,
and when you need a hand to hold...
.
.
...know where you're standing,
you're the soul of that place,
moment of grace,
and on the rolling breeze,
feel my reprieve,
on this cold evening,
in the broad starlight,
amongst these whispering pines...

...because you're the belle of the ball tonight...
.
.
.
...I just want to see you smile tonight...
.
.
.
...in the serenity of this broad starlight...
.
.
.
...dance with me amongst these whispering pines...
.
.
.

It is too bad you have shared this here. And I hate to say I wish I hadn't read it. Only for the sake of achievement in a better place!  A poem!
