at sixteen my life was shattered
no, I did not cry
instead I got mad as hell
it was my introduction
to the Auschwitz of my soul
leaving my home
two years later
I soon became completely
beguiled by
perfume and soft, soft lips
ah yes
psychiatrists would have had a field day
explaining to me
all those women were substitutes
for my biological mother
probably
yeah, they'd be right
still . . .
all those women was also a substitute
for the adopted one
complicated
in the telling but not so complicated
in my thoughts
those years I feared nothing
subconsciously
walked around, a chip on my whole being
faced death
more times than I should have
faced it down
didn't care
again subconsciously
wished for it
I believe people when they have seen
the complete
and utter disregard for the sanctity of life

edgy and raw, a soul exposed, told as only you can.  Well done my friend.

I do imagine the writing this out from deep beneath must do good for your very sad childhood plight.
I wish you much peace everlasting.
I read this and I feel so grateful for my parents that were forever financially struggling but
gave love to their kids.
Thanks for bringing this to us

Appreciate your kind thoughts and comments. Yes, writing about portions of my life has been very therapeutic over the years. It continues to be. Good to see you this morning.
