    Where Time and Distance
             Never Matter

Beneath an endless rolling sky
of deep grey November clouds,
along  each now forgotten road
   to nowhere,
where fragile, dead-brown leaves
danced random arabesques to
   Winter’s tune
on this bleak and lonely day of
   Autumn passing
I could think of only you;
and in this empty evening room,
where spirits meet in the shadows
   of love,
I long for your eyes in
memory, hope, and longing,
for the silence of the night
in the silence of a dream,
so that I may live again
and taste the sunlight
where time and distance
never matter.

Love the title and the use of it in the end ...
perfect.

Amazing that there is so much beauty in such sadness and longing.
