Quintessential rogue, I guess-
The name’s applied to me.
And rogue, and rake, and scoundrel-
Are things I might well be.

And yet my slumbers, in the night-
Are not disturbed by doubt-
I simply am the man I am…
That’s what life’s all about.

A scoundrel, with no worth at all?
I don’t believe that true…
Yet if that justifies the ire-
You feel, then here’s to you.

I need no one’s approval-
For me to chart my way.
And he who fights and hurries on-
Shall fight another day.

When all is past, at judgment’s bar-
I, too, shall shall stand one day.
Full well a price for choices made-
I’ll also have to pay.

Aww ain't that just like a cowboy.

I love the hidden messages in your poetry, especially the one about choices.

It's so great to read you!

Paying for our "choices" is often what drives us to fight, and hurry on to fight some more.  To set still and dwell within that circle of past choices can be too much for a person to be able to stand, so the label of rogue and scoundrel are worn glady in face of the alternative. (Speaking of personal experience here).  You write in such a matter that I always feel you could be writing about me... I don't see that often.  Fight on, friend!
