Ink

I slice my wrists most every day,
Still all I bleed is word.
And though I have so much to say,
The echoes die unheard.
I don't know how to pay your price,
But still I try and try.
'Offered myself as sacrifice,
You wouldn't let me die.

I played the game, I held that hand;
But threw in on the winner.
Why even try to understand
The logic of a sinner?
So now the world just turns and turns,
Whil I focus on nothing.
No, I can't help the way this burns,
That I try at all is something.

I know I should be moving on,
'Can't bring myself to do it.
Today, a day where dreams are drawn:
I just pray to get through it.
Tomorrow, but the consequence—
Self-persecuting crusade;
Leaving me to serve its sentence
In this dreamless world I've made.

If there's a light to see me through,
God, it's so far behind me.
If there were a way to reach you,
This silence still would bind me.
For though I have so much to say,
'Never seem to say what I think;
Still slice my wrists most every day,
Even if all I bleed is ink.

You bleed ink alright, much to the pleasure of those of us who like to read what those veins have produced.

"And though I have so much to say,
The echoes die unheard."

It touched me deeply.
Thank you for sharing!

Ink, like a tattoo, sends permanent messages
from the evolved wearer.
