I remember her brown eyes
through the picket fences
the way her legs used to move through winds draft
like polyester falling off a sweaters fringes

Braids of her smile
tracing back to the north
where her mother used to move the rockies
to where their backyard rested

Her name was Meital;
the brown, golden heiress
the envy of May
the touch of such
that fingers often fell to the floor in droves
with her heart onto the beaches wide open air

I loved her
until she finally passed
archway, white, kneeling to the ocean
arms crossed around her peaceful chest.
