I talked to the
happy homeless man,
who never reaches
out his hand.
Seen as sad
by those
who pass
and thought
to bear a
damaged mind,
because he
does not possess
the ability to
perceive his own plight.

He said he found
great humor in
the never ending
nonsensical notions
of important people
doing important deeds
amid the clutter of
important things.

I asked for an example

He said,
"Like...

those who are
LIVING

wherever they may be...

in their skin...
in their mind...

who sometimes wonder...

"Where will I live? "

He laughed

Took my five dollars

Gave me back two

and told me
to buy myself
something nice.

I like this. I like this very much, for I was homeless when it wasn't cool and I had somewhat the same attitude. You nailed it, buddy.

I continually resist becoming attached to "things" and the feeling that I needmore!  I like the integrity of your poems and the honesty of the man living within your words.
