The tired look of the trees
gave way to a man
whose beard seemed to have greyed
unkempt
slightly too long
his face worn

old cargo pants
white tee,
holes on each side

His hands shook
index finger rampantly
his voice, timid
stutter
like missed beats of footsteps
along the cement sidewalks
as people passed him by

Money
hungry like the beaches sand
waiting and waiting
for the tide to come roll in
and finally rinse its tan face

The corner man
got no' money
his eyes have no time to stare
no ease of a dream
just the silent quote of his mothers last words
"theres more to see than the corner of your world.

There was a "corner man" in my old neighborhood. I came up in a big city and street characters were not rare. Your poetry speaks for many I'm sure.

...just bein' Bluesy
