Harken here and listen to my tale
A tale you know quite well
This tale I dare to tell
is one of no surprise
is one begat sunshine.

This tale of mine I find
is one I can't defy.
I speak of manic moods
and latent leeches too.
Which drain me of my soul
and open doors I'd rather close.

A tale without a script
tight lipped slips
from a predisposed shift
of pits, falls and snares.
Harken here
and listen to my dare.

My dare is to survive
to make me realize
that I can improvise
and live without the lie.

Regardless of my past
I must withstand the blast.
Because the mind is weak
when you increase the heat.

Instead I'll quench the flames
and deal with all the pain.
One comes to recognize
that moods shifts all the time.

Good morning, Eric. Nothing to do but to carry on with whatever sanity is left, build on it and the rewards will be sweet if you but persevere.

moods are just moods of a greater being that can persevere and draw strength from many different options

Eric
Ahh yes, and how do your moods do you? Swinging you here and there or showing up like unwanted guests that wear out their welcome? Do you have more than 2 (bad & good)? Moods are like carnival rides they can be fun or terrorize. How well I know...
Like your lamenting here.

Sometimes we fall into a mood and forget to move ... as if we were sitting in a boat without using the oars. May we all grow in the awareness that we do have control over the moods, though they fall upon us at their own timing.

Well done and I love the conclusion.
