from here to there
I've memorized how your
eyes change
when you're upset
they get this sorta glazed-over stare
and . . . later
when we're together they soften
a little

From here to there
I've recognized your likes and dislikes
how your mood changes
when things are not going right
but pick back up
when you write a poem

From here to there
I've memorized
all the little things that make you
.
.
.
you
