I Weep For You

tonight I hear the crickets
underneath the light on top of the well
and the moonbeams spin rays of light
like you imagine the fires of hell
and I weep for you

tonight I hear the winds
flailing the limbs of the fragile pines
lightning strikes and rolling thunder
rain on window panes beating a rhyme
and I weep for you

tonight I hear mournful sounds
on a dim lit street in an apartment high rise
a mother clutching a pillow close
damp from the loss of a child she cries
and I weep for you

tonight I hear weapons blaring
destruction and death is on the tube
America sweet America my blessed homeland
one nation under God indivisible
or I will weep for you

I think you will weep before it is all over here in America, Paul. You poem reached out and touched the heart and soul of anyone with feelings and hope.
