I called God on the private number
I keep in my desk drawer
Kermit the Frog came on the line
"God is busy doing God things,
call another time."

Hah! I didn't believe him
never did like that goggle-eyed freak
I took another hit of Trazodone
leaned back in my chair
waiting for the magic

Don't know how long I was out
woke up with the phone ringing loud
like the St. Mary, the Virgin Cathedral bells
thinking God was calling me back
I let the damn thing ring

I smiled
knowing how upset God would be
I was happy
even with a boner that was killing me

Ha ha ha! Your infamous last line kicker in spades! Blew my mind my irreverent friend! I'm still chuckling to myself and shaking my head. I think this one will be sticking with me all day. Silly man!

When I stop and think about it, your "lighter side"

Hah! Glad to start your Labor Day off with a smile, or a guffaw. I had some guy on AD who didn't take kindly to my God reference and he said my boner would fall off. We are no longer friends.
