Yard-Sale Tale

Come and listen to my story 'bout some girls, truck and gas
gone a ridin' down the street doin' 50, haulin' fast.
Just a laughin' and a cacklin' while jokin' havin' fun,
it's a bright sunny day and the girls are on a run.

Well, turnin' down a street was a sign by the mail
and bargain huntin' eyes had them shoutin' "Yard Sale".
Broke hinges on the door, cracked a double pane of glass
just gettin' out the truck on a day that's goin' fast.

Well the next thing you know the truck was loaded down
with lamps and clothes and all the things they found.
The money’s gettin' low but the Sun was high off ground
when the girls sniffed the air and they heard a strange sound.

They raced over tracks, crossed a bridge and a pond,
turned left down a street, Yard Sales were goin' on !
How they knew it ? I don't know, some psychic odor thin
that primes female noses to hunt bargains in the wind.

Down a path, round a moat, over land and thru the trees
found suspended was a castle on a cloud above the seas
of oaken doors and marble floors with vivid rainbow rays
reflecting brilliant sunlight on its halls of gold archways.

What froze the girls, hynotized and mesmerized their minds
was outside on the castle's lawn, a giant "Yard Sale" sign
where golden statues, silver slippers, gems and kitchen tools
made eyes light up, knees go weak, saliva drip and drool !

Arching stairs appeared in sky and spanned the distance fast.
Raced they over golden steps transfixed by 'Yard Sale' grass.
Rummaged they, oohed and aahed for hours six or seven
to cry with tears, when over, for this time in Yard Sale Heaven.

And singing in the loaded truck with treasures in the back,
the day was full of magic buys. 'Twas time to hit the sack
and dream of cherished moments when to bargain, hunt and seek
those Goodies at the Yard Sales that await for them next week.

This was precious, Namyh. I hate yard sales, always have, but I have been married (a time or two) and have been rudely led to a few yard sales as my wife pulled that ring in my nose. Heh.Heh I'm alone now, and when I walk or drive down the road and see that sign I just smile and walk/drive right on by. But you caught the sometimes insanity that happens to people as the search the paper and landscape for yard sales. I loved it when they made it to heave and THAT yard sale!!!!!--Thanks for the laugh--swampguy/JerryPat2, i.e. paderewski . . .

Jerry-swampguy-paderewski-Pat2 – One of these days you’ll walk/drive by and see that yard-sale sign and something will catch your eye. You’ll see it and it’ll see you. Your nostrils flare, your pulse quickens, your mouth runs dry and you realize that you must possess it because you’ve been hit with a lightning bolt of ‘Yard-Sale Insanity’ for which there is no known cure and it’s tugging, tugging, tugging on that nose ring once again. LOL. I know this condition ‘cause my nose is still sore. Whoa! So very happy to inject a laugh in your day Jerry-swampguy-paderewski-Pat2. Namyh

JamesM – A Yard-Sale like ‘Pickers’ on tv is a non-denominational, equal opportunity, bring your money and buy event for all genders and has been known to relieve accumulated weekly work tensions, provide a free out of the house buying adventure and have you smiling and licking your lips as you survey your conquests at the end of the day. Whoa! Let me gas up my car right now!LOL. Thanks for stopping in to enjoy JM. Namyh
